A Few More Must Watch Anime

Image
Over the past few weeks, I've shared a handful of anime that I think you need to watch. But these few weeks weren't enough time to list off all the shows that are binge worthy. After this blog post, I will be taking a hiatus from writing on this blog to heavily focus on my post grad job search. So with that being said, I'm going to give a quick run down of even more anime to watch! A Lull in the Sea If you want to cry, this is the show that will do it--I binged this show in a day in a half. This aesthetically beautiful drama/romance is about humans and mermaid like humans who live in the water. The mermaid like humans kinda need to stay in water to live so they can't be with those on land. From the New World This show takes place in a utopia world and the difficulties that is in a coming of age story. The main character searches for the mysterious of the world she's thrown into while discovering herself. It gets pretty weird but the more you watch, the more interes

This week's anime is a 2006 action, drama, mecha , show. The story is about a futurist world set in Japan that is now called Area 11 and under the power of the Holy Empire of Britannia. Japan still wanting to be an independent country, has a ton of forces that are fighting against soldiers in the Holy Empire of Britannia. The main character Lelouch Lamperouge, a Britannian student ends up on the battlefield where he meets C.C (pronounced c2) gives him a power called Geass also known as the "Power of Kings". Basically, the power lets the user make someone do whatever the user wants them to do, only with direct contact though. Lelouche was actually an exiled prince of Britannia where his mother, the queen was slaughtered and his little sister Nunnally was so traumatized by the incident she lost her eyesight. Both are currently living a fake life at Ashford Academy as students under the care of the school. Lelouche angry that his dad, the king, did not save his mom and ca

This week's anime is a comedy, sports, coming-of-age shonen. You're probably thinking, "a show about volleyball?? gross" but trust me, this show is good . The show follows Shoyo Hinata, after constantly losing every volleyball game (due to forcing random people on his team since nobody else wanted to join) decides to attend Karasuno High School to become the next "Little Giant"--his idol nicknamed that for his small height but took the school to the nationals years prior. But once Hinata enrolls in the school and joins the club, he learns that the current volleyball team is one of the worst ones in  prefecture . Karasuno means crow and now with their reputation as a powerhouse volleyball school is gone, they are now " The Wingless Crows ". Hinata wasn't the only first year to join the volleyball team, Tobio Kageyama also did who actually faced Hinata in a volleyball game during middle school. With Hinata's raw talent of jumping incredibly h

Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood

This week's anime is a 2009 acton, adventure, shonen and what I think is the best anime made of all time (rated 9.1 on IMDb, 100% on rotten tomatoes, and 9.2/10 on MyAnimeList) . This show follows two brothers, Edward and Alphonse (or Ed and Al for short) Elric on an adventure to get their original bodies back after a failed alchemy attempt of human transmutation in hopes of bringing their dead mother back. Because of this failure, Ed lost his left leg while Al lost his entire body. Ed while bleeding out from his lost leg, did some alchemy stuff and bonded his younger brother Al's soul to a nearby empty suit of armor while sacrificing his right arm in the process. Oh, they were also both 11 and 10 years old when all of this was happening. Fast forward, Ed is offered a title as a state alchemist that will allow him access to a bunch of military research and documents that he otherwise couldn't in exchange for protecting the countries citizens and taking whatever orders the

This week's anime is a 2013 comedy/supernatural show! The show starts off with Demon Lord Satan and The Hero Emilia fighting it out in a world called Ente Isla. Some of Satan's allies were beaten and he was about to lose the fight until he and his right hand, Alciel were transported to Earth. Both had demon like features and powerful magic but now on Earth, they're just like any regular human. Now after trying to conquer Ente Isla, Satan has to establish himself in modern day Japan, Sasazuka to be exact. Satan and Alciel go to register their names. Satan is now Sadao Maou and Alciel is Shiro Ashiya. Both also go rent out an apartment together and plan out their next moves in their new mysterious world without magic. But in order to survive on Earth, you need money, and the only way to get money is with a job. So Maou finds a job at McDonald's or as the show calls it, MgRonald's. Not too long after, The Hero Emilia shows up on Earth too, where she is known as Emi Yus

This week's anime is a 2014 romantic comedy!  The show follows high schooler Chiyo Sakura a girl who is head over heels for Umetarou Nozaki, who happens to be the author and artist of a popular  shojo  romance manga called Let's Fall in Love . Although, he uses a pen name "Sakiko Yumeno", so only a few people know that he's the author--it's not pretty common for a high school boy to be an author of a romance comic for young women. So, Chiyo tries to confess her love to him after school one day but he doesn't quite understand and instead gives her his autograph with the pen name. Confused at first, Chiyo asks if he is Sakiko Yumeno which he thought that she already knew. But to be far, the way Chiyo confessed her love, left a lot of room for misunderstanding. She also then agrees to follow Nozaki home thinking romantically, but ends up being his comic assistant since his deadlines are always tight. Thus begins all the continued misunderstandings between th

This weeks anime is a supernatural, action, comedy show. This show is truly a gem and one of my personal all time favorites too! In Japanese culture, gods are very important to people, there are many different kinds like gods of fortune, gods of love, and so on. People pray to these gods and ask the for certain things because they represent what the person is in need of. Yato, one of the main characters is a god, but he isn't known by anyone at all. So with that, the story follows high schooler Hiyori Iki and her run in with this Yato god. Walking from school one day she sees him looking for his cat. He finds his cat in the street and Hiyori runs to the rescue since she sees a bus coming their way. She saves them but at the cost of her own safety. She ends up in the hospital so he thanks her but tells her the bus wouldn't have hit him since he's a supernatural being anyway. Yato then introduces himself as the God Yato, but Hiyori just thinks he's a weirdo. Since Yato
