The Devil is a Part-Timer!
The show starts off with Demon Lord Satan and The Hero Emilia fighting it out in a world called Ente Isla. Some of Satan's allies were beaten and he was about to lose the fight until he and his right hand, Alciel were transported to Earth. Both had demon like features and powerful magic but now on Earth, they're just like any regular human. Now after trying to conquer Ente Isla, Satan has to establish himself in modern day Japan, Sasazuka to be exact.
Satan and Alciel go to register their names. Satan is now Sadao Maou and Alciel is Shiro Ashiya. Both also go rent out an apartment together and plan out their next moves in their new mysterious world without magic. But in order to survive on Earth, you need money, and the only way to get money is with a job. So Maou finds a job at McDonald's or as the show calls it, MgRonald's.
Not too long after, The Hero Emilia shows up on Earth too, where she is known as Emi Yusa. She decided to work as a call center agent and is also renting out an apartment somewhere nearby. Coincidentally, Maou, Ashiya, and Emi all live near each other. Yes, Emi is still after Maou, being on Earth didn't change anything. She isn't quite good at acting "human" so she often embarrasses herself in public when coming after the two.
So then we have many scenes where Emi is seen stalking Maou to figure out what his next plan is. But, all Emi can find is that Maou is incredibly good at flipping fries--being a star McRonald's employee. So, she can't really do much to Maou when there is nothing suspicious he is doing.
More characters get introduced like Maou's coworker and high schooler, Chiho Sasaki who interacts with the bunch pretty often since she has a huge crush on Maou. Some friendly faces from Ente Isla show up too. Maou's next door neighbor also plays an important role. Most of these characters have never been to Earth let alone not being able to use magic. While some are having a hard time, other's are taking their human roles a little too seriously.
At some point in the show, Maou is incredibly focused on becoming a star employee, so a lot of the comedy revolves around his struggles trying to hold down the front line at McRonald's. Who would have thought Satan of all people cared so much about flipping fries? No that is not a hypothetical question, I really asked myself that as I watched this show.
Here is a trailer of what to expect:

(Sadly, it's not on Netflix anymore)
You might think why the heck would I watch a show about McDonald's? Well there are a few fight scenes, great comedy, and a bit of romance. It has a little bit of everything really. There's a total of 13 episodes each around 23 minutes long. The show doesn't quite end but that's fine. Recently, there was news of a season two being made after eight long years! Although, we don't know when it will come out, the news is still there. Better late than never I guess. This show won't have you crying like many of the others on this blog, but it will certainly make you laugh a few times. It is definitely one of the funnier anime within the thousands out there.
If you already watched this anime or plan on it, let me know your thoughts in the comments below! (:
You've sold me on this show, especially after watching the trailer! I gravitate towards more comedic anime shows anyways, so I am absolutely adding this to my que!
