A Few More Must Watch Anime

Over the past few weeks, I've shared a handful of anime that I think you need to watch. But these few weeks weren't enough time to list off all the shows that are binge worthy. After this blog post, I will be taking a hiatus from writing on this blog to heavily focus on my post grad job search. So with that being said, I'm going to give a quick run down of even more anime to watch!

A Lull in the Sea

If you want to cry, this is the show that will do it--I binged this show in a day in a half. This aesthetically beautiful drama/romance is about humans and mermaid like humans who live in the water. The mermaid like humans kinda need to stay in water to live so they can't be with those on land.

From the New World

This show takes place in a utopia world and the difficulties that is in a coming of age story. The main character searches for the mysterious of the world she's thrown into while discovering herself. It gets pretty weird but the more you watch, the more interesting it gets.

Devilman Crybaby

A Netflix favorite during its peak. This show basically talks about a super human that is Devilman. There's a lot of sex, drugs, and violence just in the first episode alone, so if you can stomach that, this show is for you. The show moves pretty fast so your favorite characters might not stick around until the end.

Assassination Classroom

This anime is about a super powerful intelligent-can do-anything-octopus teacher that will explode the moon if he is not killed by the end of the school year. It's a weird concept, but trust me, this show makes all the characters lovable.

Parasyte -the maxim-

For more action lovers, this show has it all and a lot of it. A boy's hand gets merged into an alien knife like being and is fighting off the other alien like beings and well, a lot of people get sliced up. This show can be divided into sections since the main character goes through a lot of psychological trauma.

Nana

For a more mature drama romance show where the characters are young adults, this anime is perfect. There are two girls with the same name but completely different personalities. They're both roommates in a city that take completely different paths. One of my personal favorites.

Shiki

This horror anime is about a "virus" that inflicts a small country town in Japan after a rich family moved in. We get to see all the villagers interact with one another and how they handle with this incident. This show is a slow burn so the last few episodes go crazy. Make sure to watch the extra episodes that are side stories of some of these villagers. This show is VERY underrated.

Made in Abyss

This show may look all cute and fun but it gets dark, real dark. In another utopia like world, a girl ventures out to the abyss to learn more about her mom. You can't go too deep into the abyss because then your body pays the price. And well, the girl goes deep into the abyss with her friend.

Annnnndddd that's it for now.

These are only a handful of anime that are great watches. A lot of them are popular in the anime community but not necessarily in mainstream media. Some people still think anime is weird, and it can be sometimes--when have you ever watched a show about a super powered octopus teacher?

Over these 14 weeks, I tried not to include big names like Attack on Titan, Demon Slayer, Jujutsu Kaisen, My Hero Academia and so on. Those shows are kind of a given. But there are just some shows like Deathnote or Hunter X Hunter that need to be watched. I also didn't include all my personal favorites. My personal favorite genre seems to be romance, drama, and horror--but we can go through that list another day.

There's still so many anime out there that I haven't seen yet. I'm kind of out of the anime game now due to how busy I am, but I try my best to watch one every so often. I'm currently trying to finish Fairy Tail and watch High Rise Invasion on Netflix (I'm really bad at finishing both).

But enough of that. I hope these past few weeks has helped you decide on what anime you'll watch next or put on your watch list. Whether you read this blog once, twice, a few times, or if this is your first time, thank you so much for coming on this crazy ride of anime!

Side note: Here is the complete list of all the shows I've watched. Happy Anime watching!
