Tsurezure Children
If you didn't like the "edgy" anime recommendation from last week, here's something that will hopefully make you go awww.
The anime follows various couples in high school and how hard it is for them to say "I love you". Yes, cheesy, but the comedy aspect is the best part. The plot revolves around multiple couples, so you get to see everyone's different quirks, thoughts, and reactions to one another's gestures.
There's also a LOT of miscommunication between one partner to another, but that's only natural, plus these are high schoolers we're talking about. And because everyone has a unique character, there may be a few moments that viewers can relate to.
There is no such thing as a "perfect couple" and this show really puts an emphasis on that. Some may overthink about their partner's motives, or some may overstep boundaries making the situation incredibly awkward. This anime has it all.
Basically, love is weird and makes us do weird things sometimes.
Another unique aspect of the show is that everyone is pretty much connected to one another whether they're friends, teammates, or in the same class. But there are also characters with siblings or parents who don't really know how to read the room.
A mom just wants to give their kid some snacks so their date feels comfortable, but does the exact opposite multiple times.
There are so many golden moments like a little sister reading her brother's messages thinking he accidentally got someone pregnant, or getting so excited to read a text message but dropping your phone in the shower.
The entire show depicts the struggles and joy of first time love. The end goal of this show isn't a happily ever after, but more of a what happens in between.
Here is a quick trailer of what to expect:
This 2017 romance comedy anime only has 12 episodes with each episode only being 5 or so minutes long--it's a pretty quick watch. The episodes don't really follow each other in a straight storyline but rather shows the best moments from each couple.
If you're into romcoms of any sort, this anime will definitely provide. Next week we'll go back to dark and depressing!
Oh I love this anime! I first watched it last summer and have gone back to it multiple times because it goes so swiftly and the plot is enjoyable. Plus I like how we actually get to see multiple relationships develop instead of just underdeveloped high schoolers, which can sometimes happen in anime sadly. This is such a good recommendation and I'm so happy you posted about it.
